Keep sensitive work in the same outline—securely

Some notes need a higher level of privacy: a client brief, a journal entry, financial planning or confidential research. Encrypted Documents let you lock the document that needs protection while the rest of your SpacebarX workspace stays easy to use.

One document locked. Everything beside it opens the way it always did — this is a lock on a document, not a lock on the app.

Privacy where you need it, not friction everywhere

Encrypt a single document rather than your whole workspace. Your day-to-day project notes remain accessible, while the specific document containing private work is protected until you unlock it.

Protect a document in four steps

  1. Choose the document that holds sensitive information

The unit is the document, so the rest of your workspace carries on behaving exactly as it did.

  2. Set a strong password and store the recovery codes safely

The document gets its own key. The codes are the way back if the password is ever lost, so keep them somewhere you would still find in a year.

  3. Add a passkey for fast access on your trusted device

Optional, and the difference between a document you protect and one you actually open.

  4. Unlock it only when you are ready to work in it

Locked is the resting state. Everything else in the outline stays open beside it.

Use Encrypted Documents for

  • Private journal entries and personal reflections
  • Sensitive client notes and contract planning
  • Financial information and business records
  • Research material that requires extra care

Keep private work close to the work it supports

You should not have to move a sensitive note into an entirely separate system just to protect it. SpacebarX lets private documents live beside the projects, plans and context that make them useful.

Worth knowing

Encrypted Documents are available with SpacebarX Pro. Store recovery details safely so you can always regain access to your protected work. See pricing.

Keep the private things where they belong.
