One item. Every place it matters.

A task can belong to its project and this week’s plan. A source can support two claims. Mirrors let the same SpacebarX item appear in both places—without copies drifting apart.

The highlighted bullets mark a mirror. “Review pricing page copy” sits in the project and in this week — one item, shown twice.

Stop keeping two versions of the same work

Create the item once, then mirror it wherever it needs to be seen. Edit it in either location and the update is reflected everywhere, so your plan stays consistent without extra maintenance.

Create a mirror in seconds

  1. Place the cursor on the item that belongs in two places

Any item can be mirrored, and it keeps its children, dates and checked state wherever it appears.

  2. Copy it as a mirror with ⌘⇧L

This copies a reference rather than the text, which is the whole difference between a mirror and a duplicate.

  3. Move to the second branch and paste with ⌘⇧V

Both places now show the same item. Tick it in one and it is ticked in the other, because there is only one of it.

Use Mirrors for

  • A project task that also belongs in this week’s plan
  • A decision that needs to appear in a meeting record and project branch
  • Research evidence that supports more than one claim
  • A recurring responsibility shared across areas of work
Worth knowing

Mirrors are ideal when the item is genuinely the same work. Use a template when you need a fresh copy that can change independently.

Keep one source of truth, wherever the work appears

Create the item once. Mirror it where it matters. Let SpacebarX keep it in sync.
